On November 14th and 15th, the 36th edition of the annual convention of the Association of Manufacturers and Retailers of the Quebec Kitchen Industry (AFDICQ) took place at the Hilton Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal. Again this year, the convention was attended by a large number of participant, establishing a new attendance record of 450 people.
Attendees, who represent the kitchen industry in Quebec, were able to enjoy several activities including an industrial visit to the Armoires Cuisines Action facilities including their showroom in Boucherville and plant in Ste-Sabine. Spouses were able to enjoy a guided tour of the city and take part in a shopping session accompanied by stylists.
To follow the success of last year’s conference, participants attended presentations by Mario Dumont and Pierre Lavoie on issues affecting the kitchen industry. The speakers were able to give valuable advice to guests in addition to motivating us to move!
New this year was the AFDICQ Passport. The passport included questions on each of the exhibitor’s booths. Participants with the correct answer to the question could enter contests of various exhibitors. At Commonwealth Plywood, we draw an iPad Mini 2, and the lucky winner is Mr. Legault from Cuisines Linda Goulet.
Mr. Legault, winner of the iPad mini 2 offered by Commonwealth Plywood Distribution accompanied by Simon Brossard, Boucherville sales manager, and Ariane Vaillancourt, marketing coordinator.
The President’s Banquet and the closing ceremony on the theme Viva Italia have been successful with the Italian music quartet and the musicians and singers who made the crowd dancing. Not to mention the “flip-flops” bar which allowed guests to relieve their tired feet!
